Frequently Asked Questions

Can You Help us Find a Home Site?

Yes! One of our owners is a licensed real estate agent and we have great relationships with other leading Real Estate firms. Just like homebuilders, not all land is created equal. We will help you identify the right home site for you and your family.

Does SDS Homes Offer Financing?

Though we do not have “in house” financing, most of our customers work with our preferred lenders in order to get quality service and the best possible interest rates.

How Long Have You Been In Business?

SDS Homes Construction has been in business since 2016 with many satisfied customers. We started out as real estate investors, then moved to flipping and remodeling homes before starting to build custom homes. We are a fully licensed and insured company. Please feel free to ask us for referrals and references.

How Long Does It Take To Build?

SDS Homes Construction will work with you to build your home as efficiently as possible without sacrificing quality. From the time we pour the foundation, barring weather or trade delays, we estimate a 8-10 month actual construction time on average.

Where Do You Build?

SDS Homes currently builds within a 125-mile radius of Riverside, CA, covering the Inland Empire and surrounding areas from San Diego to Temecula and Coachella Valley to La Cresta. We have offices in Temecula and Riverside.

How Much Does an SDS Home Cost?

Dependent on the size and design of the home, location, foundation requirements, interior design and level of finishes, and current materials prices? Our costs vary from $250-$350+ dollars a square foot. Contact us to discuss the details of your project.

What Time of Year Should I Build a House?

Though construction in some parts of the county comes to a halt during the winter months, that’s simply not the case here in Southern California. So SDS Homes builds year round.

Do You Remodel Homes As Well?

Yes, we absolutely do remodeling work! Much of our business is actually remodeling work. We can handle any type of remodeling project including kitchens, bathrooms, or additions.

Can We Make Changes During the Construction Process?

Yes, we realize that some changes along the way are part of the construction process. You will be instructed throughout the process when changes are allowable and when they are not. Change order fees can apply for items changed after construction begins.

How Often Will I Meet With You During My Project?

We schedule a standing appointment time with our clients every week during the project execution. We make ourselves available to you Monday through Friday 7-5 for any other conversations and 24/7 for any emergencies that might arise.

If Building Material Costs Increase After Work has Begun, how Does That Affect My Project?

Once we sign your contract, which is a fixed price, your price is locked in. Our trade partners and suppliers will honor the price given to us at the time of your contract.

How long should my home remodeling project take?

It is difficult to determine exactly how long a home remodeling project will take. There are many variables to consider, including the time it takes to have permits approved, accessing the materials and the scope and complexity of the remodel itself. At SDS Homes Construction, we will first consult with you to determine your needs, then offer you a comprehensive quote and plan for your remodel before any work is done so that you have a full understanding of the project and how long it will take.

What is the process for a remodeling project?

The first step is to undergo a consultation with our home remodeling experts. Here, we will discuss what you are looking for and develop a custom solution that meets your needs. Once any required permits are in place, our contractors will bring your vision into reality, offering high standards of workmanship that adds value to your home.

Does SDS Homes offer A Warranty?

SDS Homes Construction offers a 3-part warranty. 1 year workmanship, 2 year system and 10 year structural.  We are a fully insured, licensed, and bonded company.

How is an ADU project different from a home renovation, home remodeling or home addition?

An ADU project involves building an additional dwelling on your property that is separate to your existing buildings. For instance, you may want to build a mother in law unit, laneway house, guest or pool house that has all of the comforts of home. The work takes place outside of your home, so there is no disruption to your home life. An ADU is the perfect way to add value to your home while generating income opportunities.
